New Orleans startup sold to Jazz Fest organizer and live events giant AEG

May 2, 2024 — A startup spun off from New Orleans-based live events management company Solomon Group in 2019 has been bought by AXS, the ticketing subsidiary of live events giant Anschutz Entertainment Group, generally known as AEG.

WRSTBND (pronounced “wristband”) was founded five years ago by Jonathan Foucheaux and Conway Solomon. The company had spent the past five years developing software to help manage events for Solomon Group, a company founded by Conway Solomon’s brother, Gary Solomon Jr., which itself designs and manages big live events like the Essence Festival of Culture, recent Major League Baseball draft broadcasts and red carpet shows. WRSTBND said this week that it had completed its sale to AXS (pronounced “access”) in March for an undisclosed price. CEO Solomon said WRSTBND currently employs 24 and he expects to grow that by about 50% under the new ownership.
