Eight emerging Gulf South-based music tech or tech-enabled startups have been selected for the inaugural cohort of METRONOME – a music business accelerator, powered by IDEAinstitute. After a highly competitive selection period with 54 applicants, these companies were selected based on their trajectory towards building scalable businesses for creators and/or consumers in the music industry, as well as their potential to contribute to the growth of New Orleans’ music and cultural economy.
The program began last week, and for the next 10+ weeks these founders will be working on further conceptualizing their startups through the program’s sessions, workshops, direct mentorship, and more. The core curriculum and workshops will provide essential knowledge for successfully scaling their ventures. Additionally, each founder will have a dedicated, industry-focused mentor, access to a specialized coworking space, highly curated coaching sessions, and ongoing peer-to-peer connection opportunities.
